Clustering

For a general introduction into aivis dependency analysis, see user guide!

The clustering plot positions all signals as dots. The positioning is chosen according to their mutual correlations, but had to be projected to the plane. Signals in the same cluster have the same color. The center signals of the clusters have bigger dot sizes.

In this report there can generally be one or more clusters selected. Additionally, one signal can be in the focus. When there are clusters selected, the signals of non-selected clusters become white-shaded.

Clicking on a dot, i.e. a signal, results in selecting the signal's cluster and putting said signal into the focus. When there are clusters selected, by clicking on the respective label ("selected cluster xyz") in the bottom left you can star a cluster. That simply enables you to visually distinguish clusters of similar color. Click again to de-star.

While the left button on the bottom is rather self-explanatory, the right button is designed for expert aivis engineers (aivisioneers!), who use the clusters for further aivis calculations. The content of the output file can be copy-pasted to aivis configs, typically aivis anomaly detection.

Clusters

The clusters table shows all clusters in the current zoom level.

Said zoom level can be changed via the zoom slider above.

When you change the zoom level while a signal is in the focus, in the new zoom level there will be the cluster selected that contains said focus signal. This enables you to track the whereabouts of a concrete signal.

When there's no signal in the focus but clusters selected, in the new zoom level there will be all clusters selected that contain at least one signal of the previously selected clusters. This is handy to see how a cluster gets split up.

All Signals

First, when nothing is selected, the signal table shows all signals. It however can be reduced in several ways:

When one or more clusters are selected, it only shows the signals in the respective clusters.

When on the bottom right some string is inserted, the table only shows the signals which contain said string - either in their id, name, description or unit.

Clicking on a signal in the signals table makes it the new focus signal. To de-focus a signal, select another one or select the option NO FOCUS SIGNAL, which is the first line of the focus signal select widget.
